Letter from Paula Golden

Dear Friends,

In keeping with its core mission to advance STEM learning, Broadcom Foundation has joined forces with one of America's oldest and most prestigious science-focused nonprofit organizations, Society for Science & the Public (SSP) to sponsor the National Broadcom MASTERS™ competition. Middle Schoolers in 6th, 7th and 8th grade are invited to compete in order to demonstrate their mastery of Math, Science, Engineering and Technology - with finals to be held in Washington D.C. in fall of 2012.

Our six year commitment as a national sponsor will enable thousands of young men and women become excited about learning math and science and envision their own future as scientists, engineers and innovators.

Broadcom Foundation also partners with universities and, organizations to inspire and enable students from all walks of life to achieve their career goals in STEM fields. We seek out opportunities where Broadcom employees can volunteer their time and talent to make a difference. At a time when resources are scarce, Broadcom strives to leverage time, talent and foundation funding to maximize its impact in communities where Broadcom employees live and work around the globe.

Although much of its funding is by invitation only, Broadcom Foundation invites qualifying organizations to submit an online grant application during Open Proposal Period from April 30 - June 30. As part of Broadcom's commitment to environmental stewardship, Broadcom Foundation strives to be a paperless non-profit. To this end, only online proposals will be accepted.

Sincerely,

Paula Golden
